P. John Harmon, 50

P. John Harmon, 50, of Bridgton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at his home after a lengthy illness. John will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father and special friend to many.

He was born in Bridgton on May 18, 1964, a son of Clinton and Beverly (Brown) Harmon. He attended local schools and graduated from Lake Region High School in 1983.

John worked at the Bridgton Knitting Mill for 18 years and served as a supervisor. He later earned his oil burner license and went to work at B & L Oil with many friends, where he worked for 12 years until he retired due to his health.

For 12 years, John served as baseball coach for the Bridgton Little League. He was well-known for helping people in time of need and was a friend to all. He especially connected well with younger people and loved spending time with his family and friends. John could light up a room and fill it with laughter. He was well loved by many.

John was predeceased by his father.

He leaves behind his wife, Joann (Sutherby) Harmon of Bridgton; his son, Andrew Harmon of Bridgton; his daughter, Rebecca Harmon and her fiancé, James Proctor of Bridgton; three brothers, Mike and his wife, Debra, Mark and his wife, Julie, and Scott and his wife, Jan, all of Bridgton; a sister, Terri Pike and her husband, Mark of Bridgton; three grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
