Olga Finlayson, 90

PORTLAND — Olga Finlayson, 90, died at home on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013.

Born in Pennsylvania on July 11, 1923, Olga served as an officer in the Army Nurse Corps through the Korean Conflict, where she met and married Kenneth Finlayson. They moved to Maine in 1951.

Olga returned to school in the mid 1960s for a teaching certificate and taught in the Westbrook school system, earning a master’s degree and retiring in 1985.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth; two sons, Kenneth Finlayson of Hope Mills, N.C. and Scott Finlayson of Bridgton; and two grandchildren.

Olga was predeceased by her daughter Donaruth Finlayson; and her two sisters, Ann Pennington of DuBois, Pa. and Elizabeth Edwards of Lockport, N.Y.
