Norris Bennett, 71

LOVELL — Norris “Norrie” Bennett, 71, of Lovell, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016.

He was born in Bridgton, on April 19, 1945, to Ralston and Mildred Bennett. He graduated from Fryeburg Academy and was a lifetime resident of North Fryeburg and Lovell. He was the owner of Bennett & Daughter Logging and Excavation for many years. Norris was a man of few words but was always there to help others in time of need. He was loved by many and touched the hearts of all who knew him. One of his favorite remarks was “I’ll flip you for that.” He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, hunting, competitive golf carting and snowmobiling with daughter Lisa, watching animals, and especially his cat Sam, and watching the Red Sox and Patriots games. He enjoyed skiing and mowing his lawn.

Norris is survived by his wife, Roberta (Heath); his son, Rick Libby and wife Kathy; daughter, Lori and husband, Rusty Stacy; daughter Lisa and husband Hopsing Farrington; and son Stephen and wife Lori; his granddaughters, Tessa, Hillary and Nicole; and grandsons, Greg, Michael, Mathew, and Kyle; sister, Meredith Harmon; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law, Wayne Harmon, and nephew, Doug Harmon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bennett Garage, 876 Lovell Rd., Lovell, Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Fryeburg Rescue, 89 Bridgton Road, Fryeburg, ME 04037.
