Nicholas L. Chagrasulis

Casco — Nicholas L. Chagrasulis died suddenly Monday, January 16, 2012. Nick resided in Casco Village, where he grew up.

He was born in Grasmere, N.H. on Sept. 5, 1955, the son of Charles Spiros and Opal Stafford Chagrasulis.

Nick is predeceased by his older brother, Charles Thomas Chagrasulis, who died in a motor vehicle accident in 1979.

As a child, Nick enjoyed baseball and was a gifted player. He played varsity baseball at Lake Region High School. One of his favorite trips was to the Baseball Hall of Fame with his son, Tommy. Another very important part of Nick's life was the Boy Scouts. He remained very close to those he grew up with in his Boy Scout Troop.

Nick worked for many years at Hancock Lumber, and after that for other lumber companies in contractor sales.

One of Nick's greatest joys in life was spending time with his family and all of his cousins. He particularly enjoyed the Chagrasulis family floats in the Casco Day parades.

Nick is survived by his son, Thomas Spiros Chagrasulis, his sisters Elizabeth Chagrasulis and Rebecca Chagrasulis, his brother Robert Chagrasulis, and his nephews Adam and Alex Brandow, and Charlie and Jason McGee.

Nick attended the Casco Village Church, where many members of the congregation supported him at many times in his life. A Memorial Service and celebration of Nick's life will be held at the Casco Village Church at 1 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2012, followed by a reception for family members and friends in the Great Room at the Casco Village Church. The Reverend Joyce Long, pastor, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund is being established for Nick's son, Thomas Chagrasulis. Those attending the memorial service will have deposit information available at that time, or if wished, checks may be mailed to Thomas Chagrasulis c/o Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Rd. Casco, ME 04015.
