Myrtie (Smith) Maynard, 93, passed away on Feb. 12, 2011, in Bridgton. She was a resident of Bridgton Health Care and Beacon Hospice.

Born in Jackson, N.H. on Sept. 5, 1917, to Clifton and Mabel (Johnson) Smith, Myrtie was predeceased by her husband, George Maynard; two daughters, Sandra Cook and Donna Amergian; a brother, Everett Smith, and two sisters, Thelma Hodgdon and Evelyn Woodbury.

Myrtie is survived by two brothers, Clifton Smith Jr. of North Conway, N.H. and Maurice Smith of Cumberland Foreside; a sister, Elaine Farrugia of South Portland; nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

A springtime graveside burial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are with Independent Death Care, Portland.
