Milton L. Hard, 95

 

NAPLES — Milton L. Hard, 95, died on Sept. 2, 2012 at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born April 17, 1917 in Fairlee, Vt. “Bump,” as he was known, served his country for 28 years in the United States Air Force, having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

His first wife, Inez Kiley, died after 33 years of marriage. They had four children. Bump then married Dorothy Snell and had two children. They shared 25 years together prior to her death.

He was a man loved by all who knew him. He was quick with a smile and the king of one-liners. Bump was thrilled to see his beloved Red Sox win two World Series, which he thought would never happen. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Surviving are six children; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Bump was buried last Thursday in the Village Cemetery in Fairlee, Vt. next to his first wife, Inez.
