WESTBROOK — Michael Eric Hayer, 63, of Westbrook, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Passaic, N.J., the son of George and Yvonne (Ledoux) Hayer. Michael served in the U.S. Army as a salvage diver. He worked as a bus driver for the Portland Metro for many years.

Michael was a past Master of the Mason Saccarappa Lodge, a member of the Kora Shriners and part of the Kora Cycle Corps. He enjoyed riding ATVs and was a member of the Island Falls ATV Club. Besides four-wheeling, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and traveling.

Michael is survived by his wife, Catherine (Ellsmore) Hayer of Westbrook; a son, Allan Hayer of Harrison; a daughter, Genie Hayer of Bridgton; and four grandchildren.
