Michael Carey

HIRAM — Michael E. Carey, 64, of Hiram, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan.14, 2015, at the Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, with his loving wife, Elizabeth, son Tom and daughter-in-law, Dixie by his side.
Mike was born on Jan. 18, 1950, in Lincoln, the son of the late Earle and Virginia (Kenney) Carey Sr.
He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Libby, on Aug. 4, 1980. He was a hardworking man who worked for many years as a truck driver and a mechanic until he found comfort, friends and happiness at Auburn Concrete in Westbrook.
He enjoyed old vehicles, playing cards with special family and friends, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need but, most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He shared 35 years of marriage with Elizabeth (Libby) Carey of Hiram.
In addition to his wife, family members include two sons, Tom Colby of Lewiston, and Shawn Colby of Rumford; a daughter, Lisa Boyd of Parsonsfield; two grandsons; and four granddaughters. He was predeceased by his parents; and infant brother, Dale Shannon Carey.
Funeral services will be held at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of the service.
