Melvin Tenney, 83

NAPLES — Melvin Tenney, 83, passed away at Ledgewood Manor on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, from complications of Alzheimers.

Mel was born on July 8,1933, the son of Warren and Inez Knight Tenney. He was one of eleven children born at the Tenney farm on Quaker Ridge in Casco. Melvin was a cabinetmaker, a builder and a stone mason by trade. He loved animals, especially dogs and he had a great fondness for children. He and his wife just celebrated 30 years of marriage on Valentines Day. Mel attended Cornerstone Gospel Church in Naples for many years.

He was predeceased by his 10 siblings, his son Melvin Jr., and a grandson. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Norman Morton Tenney of 30 years, the love of his life; two daughters, Elizabeth and Theresa; his son Mark Tenney; stepchildren, Tim Morton, Tom Morton, Michael Morton, Susan Fogg, and Julie Beckwith; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial and interment will be held in the spring at Tenney Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are most welcome. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter in his memory. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhome.net
