CAPE ELIZABETH — Maxine M. Ellis, 82, of Cape Elizabeth, died in Portland on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010.

She was born in Brooks, the daughter of Sherman and Priscilla “Robbins” Murray, where she was educated and a graduate of Brooks High School class of 1946. She attended Boston University.

Maxine married Robert Ellis on Sept. 13, 1951. She worked in sales for Bernie’s Fashion in Portland for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Portland.

Mrs. Ellis was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and brother, Paul.

Survivors include her three children, Brent Ellis of Naples, Kent Ellis of Lafayette, Colo., Roxanne England of Gilbert, Ariz.; four grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews and many loving friends and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at the First Congregational Church in South Portland. Interment will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Cape Elizabeth.
