Maureen C. Finks

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Maureen Cady Finks, 83, formerly of Portland, passed away at her residence in Port Charlotte, Fla., on Jan. 30, 2011.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1927, to Ralph and Genevieve Dunn Cady. She attended Portland schools.

Maureen and her husband of 42 years, John M. Finks, moved to Port Charlotte in 1981. She was formerly employed by Fawcett Memorial Hospital as a clerical worker and a nursing assistant.

She was a member of Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte, a member and past president of Temple Shalom Sisterhood, and a life member of Hadassah. She was also a member of The Robert L. Cochran Jr. Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (Chapter 82) in Port Charlotte.

Maureen is survived by her beloved husband, John M. Finks; four daughters, Saralyn Anderson of Turner, Linda Finks Davis of South Casco, Diana Finks Gardner of Jupiter, Fla. and Donna Finks of Madison; a brother, Donald T. Cady of Portland; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, John (Jack) Cady.

Funeral services and interment were arranged by Roberson Funeral Home and were held in Port Charlotte, Fla., on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011. Maine friends and relatives may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign a guest book and extend condolences.
