GRAY — Mary Jane Brown, 59, formerly of Gray, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at an Exeter, N.H. health care facility.

Born in Portland on July 20, 1951, she was the daughter of Edward and Jane Abbott Brown. She grew up in South Portland and was a graduate of Windham High School.
For many years, she worked as a nutritionist at Maine Medical Center until poor health forced her to leave in 2009.

She loved to spend time with her nieces, nephews, friends and her cats, Rufus and Maisy.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her grandparents, George and Bertha Abbott and Blanche Brown.

Surviving are her stepfather, Ken Atherton of Gray; three brothers, George Brown of Standish, James Brown of Windham and Thomas Brown of Casco; nieces and nephews; and by her special aunts.

There are no visiting hours. A graveside service was held on Friday, July 22, 2011, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of Dolby Funeral Chapel, Windham.
