Markius Galford, 57

NAPLES — Markius Galford, 57, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, after a long battle of lung disease and a lung transplant. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Markius was born Nov. 27, 1959, the first son of Mary and Gene Galford in Heidelberg, Germany. He grew up in Gladwin, Mich. and graduated from Harrison High School in 1978.

Markius went in the military right out of high school when he was stationed in Frankfurt Germany. Markius met and married the love of his life in Denmark in 1980. They had 36 wonderful years together.

Markius was blessed with three wonderful children, Mary, Markius and Joshua, along with two amazing grandchildren.

“Bugdah,” as his grandchildren knew him, loved time with his family. He loved being around his grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and let’s not forget playing pool!

Markius was predeceased by his brother, Tom Galford.

He is survived by his wife Lori of Naples; his daughter Mary Frey; two grandchildren; his sons, Markius and Joshua, both of Naples; his brother, Terry Galford of Gladwin, Mich.; his mother, Mary Galford of Gladwin, Mich.; and his father, Gene Galford of Florida. He is also loved and missed by many friends and family members.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco, followed by a 1:30 p.m. committal service at the Crooked River Cemetery in Naples.
