Mark Ward

RAYMOND — Mark Jonathan Ward, 46, died unexpectedly on Nov. 29, 2014, in Raymond. He was born on Dec. 12, 1967, in Lewiston, the son of Erwin Ward and Susan (Wuori) Ward.
He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1986. From there he attended the University of Northern Maine, Presque Isle, where he earned a degree in Wood Harvesting. Mark spent a lot of his early work life driving a “big rig” across this beautiful country, many times with his son Eli.
After he finished his career in driving he went back to his real love for work, logging. Mark continued to cut wood until an injury forced him into early retirement. He was a friend to everyone and always had a beaming smile on his face.
In 2010, Mark married the love of his life, Michelle Reed, after having spent 15 years together. Together they built their home in Oxford.
Mark is survived by his wife Michelle; his father Erwin Ward of Oxford; sons Eli Ward and William Reed; daughters, Kelsey and Kaitlyn Reed; a grandson Billy Reed; two brothers whom he loved very much, Michael Ward of Oxford and Scott Ward and his wife Julie, also of Oxford; his grandmother Aili Wuori; aunts and uncles; nieces Mikeckney Ward and Lainey Ward; a nephew Connor Ward; his mother-in-law Maureen Simmons; and many more family and friends. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford. Family and friends may attend visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers do a good deed of kindness for someone in need in Mark's memory.
