Marjorie A. Hay

HAWTHORNE, FLA. — Marjorie Ann Hanscom Hay, 78, died on Jan. 30, 2012.

Margie, as her friends knew her, was born April 30, 1933, in Casco, the daughter of Donald C. and Goldie H. Hanscom. She received her master’s degree in Education from the Gorham State Teachers College in Gorham, and taught school for 40 years.

Marjorie was preceded in death by a sister, Judith L. Hanscom; and a brother, Peter C. Hanscom.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell C. Hay of Hawthorne, Fla.; a son, Linwood “Woody” Hay of Wytheville, Va.; two grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.

Interment will be on a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Casco. A memorial service was held at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion in Hawthorne, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 4. Marge was active in the church as organist and choir director.
