Marion J. Chretien

WESTBROOK — Marion J. Chretien, of Westbrook, died on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Gorham House Nursing Home, Gorham, where she had resided for several years.

She was born in Portland on Sept. 14, 1925, the daughter of Frank W. Libby and Annie M. Barrett Libby. She graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1944.

She was married at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on July 4, 1944.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert P. Chretien on Oct. 4, 2005.

Marion was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Westbrook, and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Hyacinth, the Saint Mary’s Women’s Council, the Daughters of Isabella, the Warren Extension, and the Westbrook Senior Citizens. Marion was employed at S.D. Warren for 18 years.

Surviving are her daughter, Ann-Marie Cote of Westbrook; two sons, Paul A. Chretien of Westbrook and Joseph E. Chretien of Benton; and five grandchildren including Dianna J. Cook of Denmark.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Brown Street, Westbrook. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery.
