Marie Burnell

WEST BALDWIN — Marie Burnell, 91, of West Baldwin, died unexpectedly at her home on May 8, 2011.

She was born on July 4, 1919, the daughter of Henry and Lulu Gregory Warren. She attended Denmark schools and was a graduate of Denmark High School.

While working at The Corn Shop in Fryeburg, she met Loren Burnell Jr. and they were married in 1952. She worked at the Kezar Falls Woolen Mill for many years, and later for several more at Vulcan Electric in Kezar Falls. She enjoyed camping; she and her husband had belonged to the Good Sam’s Camping Club for many years. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

Marie will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Loren Burnell Jr.; a sister, Blanche Estes; and a brother, Merton Warren.

Surviving are her daughter, Jean Murch of Baldwin; her son, Howard Burnell of West Baldwin; a sister, Ruth Warren of Conway, N.H.; a grandson and two great-grandsons.

A graveside service will be on Thursday, May 12, at 11 a.m., at the Old West Baldwin Cemetery.
