HYDE PARK, MASS. — Marianne Kingsley Ricard, 69, of Hyde Park, Mass., died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.

She was born in Dorchester, Mass., on Nov. 24, 1945, the daughter of Robert H. and Elinore Bowman Kingsley, who predeceased her.

She was raised in Bridgton, where she attended schools and was a 1964 graduate of Bridgton High School. She also attended Newton Junior College in Massachusetts.

She moved to the Boston area upon graduation from high school. In the early days she worked for S. S. Pierce Co. in Brookline, and then went to work at Hi-Lo Foods in Jamaica Plain, and finally she was employed by the Suffolk County Court, first in the Probation Department, and then she transferred to Operations Supervisor in the Clerk’s Office for Criminal Business. After 30 years, she recently retired due to declining health. She was an invaluable resource to the staff, attorneys and the District Attorney’s office.

She enjoyed two trips to Ireland to connect with her Irish roots, and vacationed in Maine, New Hampshire, Hawaii and the Caribbean.

Her greatest joys were being a mother to her boys and “Nana” to her grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings and entertaining at the backyard pool. She was a great collector of knick-knacks, Irish music and Christmas villages. Her cats brought her great pleasure.

She is survived by her three sons, John Ricard and wife Peggy of West Roxbury, Mass.; David Ricard and his girlfriend Laura Harvie of Hyde Park, Mass., and Marc Ricard and fiancée Paige Harper of Bristol, R.I.; her four adoring grandchildren, Kaila, Robbie and Ava of West Roxbury, Mass., and Ellie Rose of Bristol, R.I.; her sister Elaine Rioux, of Bridgton; niece Suzette Indelicato of Glen, N.H.; nephews, Michael Chaine of North Bridgton, and Richie Rioux of Manchester and their families her aunts Edith Bulman of Randolph, Mass., and Dorothy Bowman of Marshfield, Mass.; her housemate Al Babson of Hyde Park, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were held at Mann & Rodgers Funeral Home in Jamaica Plain, Mass., on Tuesday, April 7, and a Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 8, at St. John Chrysostom Church in West Roxbury, Mass.

Burial will take place at a later date in Forest Hills Cemetery in Bridgton.
