Maria N. Dickie, 96, of Bridgton, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 5, 2017 at the Bridgton Health Care Center.

She was born on Nov. 1, 1920, in Montreal, Canada, a daughter of Archie and Marie Anne (Grenier) Perron.

Maria’s family moved to Glover, Vt. in 1930 and she became a U.S. citizen in Lawrence, Mass. at the age of 19.

In 1952, she married, Dean S. Dickie and had a son, Robert. They made their home in Oxford until the time of his death in 1970 at which time she moved to Bridgton.

Maria was a life member of the Eastern Star in South Paris and the Oxford American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She had a wonderful circle of good friends and loved a game of bingo.

She is survived by a niece and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dean; her son, Robert; longtime companion, Roger Macdonald; and a sister, Jackie Kennison.
