Maria Champagne

Maria E. Champagne, 76, of Bridgton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 in Auburn.

Maria was born on Jan. 1, 1940 in Refugio, Texas.  She was involved with the Bridgton Women’s Guild, Boo Boo Bears, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the Bridgton Food Pantry.

In addition to her passion for her family, Maria enjoyed traveling, camping and boating, gardening, knitting and quilting. For many years, Maria worked in the hotel management industry.

Maria was predeceased by her parents, Pedro and Elida Perez; two brothers and three sisters.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Rosaire Champagne; her daughters, Anna Granger and Cathy Villegas; her stepchildren Bryan Champagne, Lee Ann Barnes and Raymond Champagne; her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; seven sisters; and other family members.

Services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 South High Street, Bridgton, on Oct. 24, 2016 at 11 a.m.
