Marguerite L. and Harry L. Gowell

Marguerite (Marge) L. Gowell, 78, passed away Feb. 27, 2017 from complications of surgery in Tennessee with her daughter and niece by her side.

She was born Sept. 6, 1938 in Bridgton, the daughter of Almon and Ruth Littlehale, and sister of Mable Valley. She graduated from Bridgton High School, Class of 1956. Marge enjoyed making her homemade fudge, candy, and lying in a hammock by the water.

Harry L. Gowell, 78, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2017, after long illness in Tennessee.

He was born June 20, 1938, in Lewiston, son of Dwight and Flora Gowell. He was the brother of Charles Gowell and Ruth Berry. He graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1956. Harry enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and helping out with all the recycling.

They are survived by their son, Jay Gowell; and daughter, Raelyn Devendorf; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Marge and Harry were married June 26, 1959. They will be sadly missed by their friends from Maine to Florida.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery on Kansas Road in Bridgton, on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m.
