Margaret McAllister

PORTLAND — Margaret V. McAllister, 79, of Waterford, passed away on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 21, 1937, the daughter of Albert and Hazel O’Neill Allen. She married Eugene McAllister on June 29, 1957, and had been a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed camping, canoeing trips fishing down the Crooked River and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and liked to make different recipes.

She is survived by her son Dale McAllister and his wife Marcia; her daughter Lisa Scribner and her significant other Ray Fox; grandchildren Katie Libby and her husband Corey, Kristina Wilson and her husband Eric, Jesse Scribner and his significant other Sierra Grover, Tamra Scribner and her partner Sierra McDaniels; four great-grandsons Cooper and Carter Libby and Blake and Trent Wilson; her siblings Albert Allen, Dorothy McDonald and Merle McAllister. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Eugene; sisters Ruth Swett, Evelyn McAuliffe and Irene Trimback.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at the North Waterford Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Stoneham Rescue, PO Box 42, Stoneham, ME 04231.
