Mabel Valley

CONCORD, N.H. — Mabel Ann (Littlehale) Valley, 85, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Mabel was born in Harrison to Almon W. and Ruth (Proctor) Littlehale, on Dec. 21, 1933. She graduated from Bridgton High School. Mabel worked at the Bridgton theater, drove taxi for her father and apprenticed to be a hairdresser. She married Sherwin Robert Valley on March 7, 1953, and to that union they had four children:  Doreen Valley of Titusville, Fla., Jeffrey Valley of Newfield, Douglas Valley of Chichester, N.H., and Patricia (Valley) Pomerleau of Sequatchie, Tenn. She had eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.

Mabel enjoyed square dancing with her husband Sherwin, throughout New England, sewing all their outfits for the dances. She loved spending every summer at the family camp on Long Lake, swimming, playing cards, doing puzzle books, reading and playing bingo. She loved to socialize and brighten people’s days.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sherwin Valley, on Nov. 25, 2001; and her only sister, Marguerite (Littlehale) Gowell on Feb. 27, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Bridgton, on Sept. 1, 2019, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in Newfield.

She will be missed.
