LR Drama Club presents ‘Oklahoma’ this weekend

SC OK! CastOKLAHOMA OPENS — The Lake Region High School Drama Club and Ten Lakes Chiropractic Clinic invite the public to opening night of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! at the Lake Region High School auditorium tonight, April 9, at 7 p.m.!

Directed by Eugene Long, Oklahoma! is a must-see classic with a talented cast and crew including stage managers Codi Harden and Lily Barrett, assistant stage manager Thomas Kugelman, stage crew Hunter Bodenheim and Garreth Logan, lighting and sound crew Lisa Bergsten Ahnelov, Nikola Gomolova and Liza Wildey.

The cast of colorful characters: Lydia Symonds and Elise Gianattasio as Laurey, Dan Bonasoro and Dan Neault as Curly, Erin Holston and Alex Hedley as Ado Annie, Maxwell Evans as Will Parker, Sarah Carlson and Taylor Bass as Aunt Eller, Sean Buchanon and Galen McLaughlin as Judd Fry, Carolyn Lucy and Mallory Strain as Gertie Cummings, Reed Bridge-Koenigsberg and Harold Bracy as Ali Hakim, Lily Charpentier and Maggie Scarlett as Ellen, Logan Mujica as Carnes, Emily St. John as Kate, Vincent Perfetto as Cord Elam, Madison Wildey and Michelle Bender as Vivian, Tanner Crockett as Ike Skidmore, Kevin Flanagin as Slim, and Leticia Gomez and Briley Graves joining the cast in the choral/dance ensemble.

It should be mentioned that Erin Holston and Carolyn Lucy were also responsible for the choreography. Adding to the entertainment is a wonderful pit band comprised of piano accompanist Nancy Farris, Dr. Paul Greenstone on bass and tuba, Michelle Kingston on trumpet, and Sean Potter on clarinet, flute, piccolo, and any number of instruments he might be asked to play. Set design and construction is courtesy of Greg Harris with help from Brian Harris and Jon Vaughn-Carr. Kudos to “guru of garb” Michelle Brenner, with help from Susan Symonds, who created the great costumes!

There will be four other performances: Friday and Saturday nights, April 10-11 at 7 p.m. and matinees Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12 at 2 p.m. Advance tickets are still available for $8 for students and seniors over 65 and $10 for adults ($2 less than at the door!) at Aubuchon Hardware in Naples, Bridgton Books, Hawthorne’s Attic (just south of Cry of the Loon on Route 302 in South Casco), and the LRHS Office. Support the arts at Lake Region — it’s going to be a great show!
