NAPLES — Lorraine Amanda Morton, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Ledgewood Manor in Windham.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1922, in Sebago, the daughter of Charles L. and Lena R. (Eldridge) Hunt.

Lorraine worked at a number of occupations in her life including commercial egg farming, operating a neighborhood grocery store, many years at the Bridgton Knitting Mill and working at Bridgton Hospital. In addition, she was an active member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #155 for many years, as well as a committed member of the Edes Falls Sewing Circle in Naples.

One of the joys in Lorraine’s life was her family and in addition to her son, she was always looking for ways to organize family events for her brothers and their families. She tried to always keep in touch with her many nieces and nephews as well as their children and grandchildren, and nothing thrilled her more than a visit from her relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles “Buster” Morton of Naples, who passed away in 1982, and her three brothers, Clarence Hunt, David Hunt and Ralph Hunt.

She is survived by her son Charles “Chuck” and his wife Becky Morton of Naples; and the many nieces and nephews that made up her extended family.

A service will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, May 17th, at the Hall Funeral Home in Casco, with a celebration of life following the service at the American Legion Post #155 in Naples. A private interment will be held later in the day at the Edes Falls Cemetery in Naples. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edes Falls Sewing Circle to help maintain the Edes Falls School House. Donations may be mailed to: Edes Falls Sewing Circle, 23 Mill Lane, Naples, ME 04055.
