Loretta Ridlon Crocker, 68

Loretta Ridlon Crocker, 68, of Bridgton, died on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 8, 2015, at her home in Bridgton.

She was born in Bridgton on Oct. 12, 1947, a daughter of Olin “Duffer” and Elizabeth (Eastman) Ridlon. She attended local schools, graduating from Bridgton High School in 1965. She married L. Stanley Crocker in 1966.

Loretta worked in the Fryeburg Historical Society research library as the director of research for six years, helping people find their families. She was a member of the United Parish Congregational Church of Harrison and North Bridgton, and served as the secretary and treasurer for the North Bridgton Cemetery Association for five years. She enjoyed gardening, books, her friends and family.

Loretta is survived by her husband, L. Stanley Crocker of Bridgton; her grandchildren, Hailey and Noah Crocker; and a nephew, David Lamb and his wife, Susan. She was predeceased by her son, Nathan Philip; and a sister, Brenda Lamb.

Her family would like to thank the RNs in the Bridgton Hospital Oncology Treatment Room for their kindness and ability to find a way to laugh and make her stay there a little easier. Also, a thank you to Dr. Paul (the kind of Doctor everyone should have), and Beacon Hospice for their wonderful staff and care.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, at the United Parish Congregational Church of Harrison and North Bridgton, 77 Main St., Harrison. Interment will be at the North Bridgton Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8 Elm St., Bridgton.
