Loretta E. Andrews, 75

STONEHAM — Loretta E. Andrews, 75, of Stoneham, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at Rumford Hospital.

She was born June 5, 1940 in Bridgton, the daughter of Everett and Althea Sawyer. She was their only child. She grew up in Fryeburg and attended local schools and Fryeburg Academy.

Loretta married Stephen Andrews on Aug. 14, 1959. She had been employed for a number of years for Evergreen Valley and the Red Jacket in North Conway.

She was a member of the North Waterford Grange No. 479 and the Daughters of Union Veterans. She was also a member of the Congregational Church in Stoneham. Loretta loved the Fryeburg Fair. She enjoyed knitting and made many blankets and booties for many relatives and friends that were having a baby. She also enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and crafts. She loved sending and receiving cards, and watching the birds.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1991. She is survived by two sons, Everett Andrews of Stoneham, and Wayne Andrews of Bow, N.H.; one daughter, Darlene Dunn, of Stoneham; an aunt, Anna Sawyer, of Old Orchard Beach; two grandchildren; and many cousins.

Visiting hours were held Saturday, March 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home at 9 Warren St. in Fryeburg. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Stoneham in the spring.
