What do you like most about school, why? I like that we are exposed to so many different opportunities and experiences. Teachers really push you to see the world in different ways!

What is your biggest challenge in school? My biggest challenge in school is getting my work done on time! I’m a really big procrastinator, but I think that I have gotten much better through the years.

What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is English. I really love reading books and analyzing them. Some of my favorites have been recommended by my teachers at school.

If you could change one thing about school, what would it be? If I could change one thing about school it would be school spirit. I miss how much Laker spirit the school used to have, and I really hope that students can find that again!

What characteristics do you believe a good teacher should possess? I believe that a good teacher should be understanding, patient, passionate, personal and excited!

What goals did you hope to achieve during your high school days? As a freshman, I hoped to make new friends and new memories, which I definitely did! I also hoped that all my hard work would pay off and I could go to college, which I am!

What do you hope to do in the future in terms of career, and why are you headed in that direction? I am going to college to study Elementary Education and I hope to learn to be an amazing teacher. I hope to remember and be like all the amazing teachers I have had. I have always wanted to go in a career that helped children so I thought what better way than to teach them!

What do you think it will take to be successful in the future? I think it’s going to take a lot of hard work, time and being positive to be successful in the future. I am very excited!

What lesson have you learned while at Lake Region High School that will help you in the future? “Progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” This is a George Bernard Shaw quote shared to me by a teacher. Although it is simple, it has taught me a lot and I have learned that change is not only okay, but great! This is something I will remind myself often in the future as my world starts to change drastically.
