Leroy D. Pardue, 89

SCARBOROUGH — Leroy D. Pardue, 89, of Scarborough, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at the Maine Veterans Home.

He was born in South Portland, Maine on Oct. 23, 1929, the son of the late Tom and Nellie (Loring) Pardue.

He went to South Portland High School and then enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart.

Leroy played baseball for the Portland Twilight League as a pitcher and was known for pitching many no-hit games.

Leroy was predeceased by the love his life, his wife, Rosalie (Richards) Pardue in 2008; a sister Beverly Pardue, and two brothers Philip and Ronald Pardue.

He is survived by his three daughters, Bonney Thurlow of North New Portland, Holly Pollard of South Casco and Laurey Leighton of Buxton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Leroy was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed by his loving family.
