Laurence Bartlett

NORWAY — Laurence “Mickey” D. Bartlett, 78, of Poland died Saturday, April 12 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Poland on April 7, 1936, the son of Edward C. and Marion O’Connor Bartlett. He attended schools in Poland and graduated from Casco High School. He faithfully served in the U.S. Air Force.  He had been employed at Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut and later at Poland Spring Inn as a cook. He loved being on the family farm.

He is survived by two sisters, Sandra Tyrell of Waterville and Phyllis Welch of Norway; a sister-in-law, Eunice Long of Casco; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Betty Clements, Raymond Bartlett, Lucille Packard and Bradley Bartlett; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 26 West Dwinal Street, Mechanic Falls. Interment will be later in the spring at Highland Cemetery in West Poland.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a local animal shelter.
