Lance A. Marshall

NAPLES — Lance A. Marshall, 62, of Naples, died on June 10, 2012, at Bridgton Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Easton, Mass., on Jan. 8, 1950, the son of Stanley and Victoria Marshall. He was raised and educated there and graduated from Bristol County Agricultural High School in 1968.

Lance enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation and served his country for four years.

In 1969, Lance married Kathleen A. Walls in Stoughton, Mass. As a couple, they made their home in Massachusetts before moving to Naples in 1979. They have been residents here for the past 33 years.

Mr. Marshall was employed as an arborist for the Town of Easton, Mass., and later began taking classes at the Brockton Massachusetts Community College to become a social worker. For a period of time, Lance was employed as a Social Worker for the Town of Plymouth, Mass. Once in Maine, he was employed for Public Cover, a security firm in Portland and later for the Maine National Bank, retiring from there in 1990 due to failing health.

He was a former member of the Odd Fellows and the Redmens.

His interest included hunting, fishing, sports of any kind and helping friends with just about anything they would need help with.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Kathy A. Marshall of Naples; one son, Stephen A. Chase of Indiana; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
