Kenneth E. Rollins, 62

Kenneth Ernest Rollins, 62, of Bridgton, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Ken was born at Bridgton Hospital on Sept. 28, 1956, the middle child of seven to Kenneth and Joanna (Mayberry) Rollins. He attended local schools, graduating from Lake Region High School in 1974. In 1979 he married Linda Batchelder and they started their family.

Ken loved many things in life, first and foremost, his family; he was a dedicated, hardworking, faithful father. His lawn was his prized possession, tending to his gardens, golfing with his league on Tuesday nights and with Linda on Saturdays. However, nothing compared to the love and admiration for his beautiful wife.

He was an extraordinarily-talented man. As a carpenter he created stunning visions in his mind, bringing them to life with his hands. From end tables to TV stands, countertops to bookcases, cribbage boards to baby doll cribs for his daughters’ toys. He used those talents in his work at Windham Millwork, which he did for 26 years. His favorite, most honorable job though was being “Papa” to his six beautiful grandchildren, who loved and adored him more than he would ever know.

He is survived by his wife Linda of 40 years; his son, Joshua Rollins and his wife, Lindsay; daughters, Jenifer Damon and her husband, Brady, and Joanna Hayes and her husband, Robert; his grandchildren, Lila, Allison, James, Jalen, Staycee and Owen; his siblings, Cynthia Phillips, Susan Tripp and her husband, Bruce, Deborah Graffam and her husband, Anthony, Joseph O’Brien, Lori King and her husband, Bernie, and Matt Rollins; many beloved nieces and nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Kellie O’Brien; a brother in-law Charlie Phillips; a nephew Steven Phillips.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the First Congregational Church, UCC, 33 So. High St., Bridgton. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Ken’s memory to the Brain Injury Association of America, Maine Chapter, 60 Western Ave., Suite 3, Box 221, Augusta, Maine 04330. Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8 Elm St., Bridgton.
