Kenneth Jackson

Kenneth Charles Jackson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, of Alzheimer’s disease, surrounded by his family, at Bella Point in Bridgton.

Ken was born on Aug. 10, 1940, to Caribel and Ralph Jackson of Oxford. Immediately following his graduation from Oxford High School, Ken pursued his aptitude for electronics, attending Mass. Radio and Technology School. Starting employment with the Bridgton Knitting Mill in 1962, Ken spent his professional career advancing from Production Supervisor to Quality Manager, to truly finding his calling in the IT Department, as Systems Manager. In 1964, he married his sweetheart, Martha Winslow of Harrison. Ken was a railroad and model train enthusiastic who enjoyed spending time with lifelong friend Harold, and being outdoors in his yard. He was a licensed Ham Radio operator, a member of the Bridgton Alliance Church, and belonged to the Crooked River Masonic Lodge. After retiring in 2001, Ken and Martha enjoyed day-tripping around the state with their black lab, Lizzie, exploring scenic places, finding fun places to eat, and visiting with their grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his wife, Martha, of 54 years; siblings, Martha and Norman; children, Susan (and husband Bruce), Sara (and husband Ken), and Andy (and wife Sue); and by his precious grandchildren, Brian (and wife Nadine), Tucker, Juliana, Jessica and Trey.

The family would like to thank the people and staff at Bella Point Bridgton and Beacon Hospice for their kindness, patience and compassion during this difficult time.

His family invites you to join them in celebrating Ken’s life on Saturday, July 13. There will be a brief graveside service at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Harrison, at 10:30 a.m. A reception with a light brunch and an informal sharing of memories will follow at Bridgton Alliance Church from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
