SOUTH PORTLAND — Joyce Eleanor (Trott) Sikora Perry, 83, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at Springbrook Nursing Center, following a long illness.

Joyce was born in Eastport on Oct. 31, 1932, the daughter of the late Winfield and Madeline Trott, a Halloween baby. Joyce attended schools in Eastport and later moved to Portland.

After finishing school, she moved to Toledo, Ohio where she met her husband John Sikora. They were married and started their family there, before moving back to Portland in 1963. They later parted, but remained good friends.

Joyce worked for many years at Vivian’s Drive-In on Forest Avenue, before purchasing the business in 1970. It was there that she met Dennis Perry and they were later married. Through the years, many family members and others worked there. It was in 1997, after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, that Joyce decided to sell the restaurant and retire.

In her spare time she loved to travel, going to England, Germany, France and Hawaii. She and Dennis spent many years at their timeshare in Aruba and always loved when family would come to visit. She loved country music and had been to Nashville several times to visit with her brother. She loved playing bingo, cards, scratch tickets and going to the casino. She especially liked winning. Joyce loved dressing up on her birthday, Halloween, and she had a great sense of humor. In 2015, she was able to attend the family reunion where family traveled from several different states. Five generations were represented there.

Joyce was predeceased by her first husband, John Sikora, and her second husband, Dennis Perry; a son, Kenneth Perry; sister, Mary Jan Felice; and brother, Winfield (Sonny) Trott.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Connors of Gorham, Pam Vacchiano of Windham, John Sikora of Westbrook, Michael Sikora of Florida, Jeff Sikora of Casco and Jason Perry of Cumberland; stepchildren Denise Ernest of Gorham, Shirley Smith of Westbrook, Michelle Davis of Florida, and Denny Jo Perry of Portland; a brother, Walt (Bill) Trott of Tennessee; sisters, Hope Bradford of Florida and Deb Gately of Florida; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; two aunts; a cousin; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel. A service followed at the chapel. Burial will be private in Forest City Cemetery.
