LEBANON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — John Marc Ledoux, 63, of Lebanon Township, N.J. passed away suddenly at home on Aug. 4, 2015.

He was born in Portland on Dec. 26, 1951 to Jean and Marcelle (Chretien) Ledoux.

John grew up in Westbrook. He was an Eagle Scout and was valedictorian of his eighth grade class at St. Mary’s School. He attended Cheverus High School in Portland, where he excelled both academically and in sports having played four years of football for Cheverus.

After graduating in 1970, John attended the University of Maine in Orono and served as president for his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. It was there he met his wife Janet (Kelly) Ledoux. He graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He and his wife, Janet, were married June 1, 1974 and moved to New Jersey where they both began working for AT&T. He later worked for Alcatel-Lucent as a senior manager continuing in that role until his retirement in 2011.

Even though John was a native New Englander, he was a diehard New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Sports were always a huge part of his life. He also during his youth played on basketball leagues at the Cumberland Gym in Westbrook.

John was known for his sarcastic wit, big hearty laugh and his big heart.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Ledoux of Lebanon Township, N.J.; a son, Christopher Ledoux of Florham Park, N.J.; twin daughters, Kimberly Ledoux of Jersey City, N.J. and Kelly Ledoux of Annandale, N.J.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Jane Meehan of Westbrook, Julie Harmon of Bridgton and Jacqueline Ledoux of Bridgton; two nephews, a niece, an aunt and many cousins.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for John at Bruno’s Restaurant, 33 Allen Avenue, Portland, from 12 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2015.
