GRAY — Jerald H. Larracey Sr., 78, of Gray, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014.

Jerry was born on Feb. 18, 1936, in Albion, to the late George H. and Rita (Willette) Larracey.

Following school, Jerry served his country in the U.S. Air Force. For many years, Jerry worked in the area shoe shops as a machinist, as well as Fairchild Semi-Conductor repairing broken down equipment.

Over 60 years ago, Jerry met his wife to be, Bertha Hull Larracey in Alabama. Jerry and Bertha shared 59 years of a beautiful marriage in which they raised a loving and caring family. Together, Jerry and Bertha traveled the country in their motor home. They enjoyed visiting family in Alabama every year. In his down time, Jerry liked to watch television and play video games with his family.

Jerry was a loving husband, father and poppy to all.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, George H. Larracey Jr.

Surviving is his loving wife, Bertha C. Larracey of Gray; their children, Jerald H. Larracey Jr. of Gray, George A. Larracey of Mechanic Falls, Danny K. Larracey of Gray and Craig M. Larracey of Naples; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Allen and Todd Larracey; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A period of visitation for Jerry was held Monday, Aug. 25, at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Burial was in Brooklawn Cemetery. Care for Jerry and his family has been entrusted to the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home of Portland.
