NAPLES — Jennie Myrtle Mitchell Larsen, 92, of Naples, passed away on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at the Bridgton Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Naples to Albert H. Mitchell and Beatrice Marion (Sargent) Mitchell, both deceased. She was also predeceased by her husband Norman Larsen and her son Albert "Chris" Larsen Sr.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Larsen Goslin of Stoughton, Mass.; her daughter-in-law Catherine Larsen of Naples; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jennie was the Town Clerk, Treasurer, Tax Collector, Registrar and finally Administrative Assistant in her 30-year career of service to the town, retiring in 1990. She was a lifelong member of the Naples United Methodist Church, singing in the choir, serving on boards, volunteering on many projects: young couples club, and more. Jennie enjoyed bowling on couples’ leagues and later on senior leagues. She did so until 2016. Jennie's pride was her knitting, and over the years she knit and donated hundreds of mittens and hats for needy children, newborn hats for hospitals, prayer shawls, and more. She actually kept records and made her last donation this past July.

Visiting hours were held from 4 to 7 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 11, at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Naples United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhome.net
