Candidate: Jeannine Oren

Background: Jeannine Oren has lived in Casco and the Lake Region for 20 years. She is best known for her role in front of the TV cameras as the multiple Emmy award-winning investigative reporter and anchorwoman for Channel 8 News in Portland (1992–2001).

She works and writes under her maiden name of “Jeannine Lauber.” She is also a Down East author who received the prestigious National Independent Publisher’s Award in 2010 for her contemporary history book titled, Chosen Faith, Chosen Land about America’s last living Shakers who reside in New Gloucester, Maine.

Jeannine is also a local small businesswoman who works out of her Casco home studio direct-selling America's #1 line of skin care and cosmetic products.

Jeannine’s twin sons graduated from Lake Region High School in 2009 and are currently attending college. They work as local “milfoil divers” for the Lakes Environmental Association during their summer vacation.

Jeannine is a former board member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Maine.

Gardening, sewing and antiquing are her favorite hobbies.

Community involvement: Served on the Casco Finance Committee and Media Sharing Committee.
