WINDHAM — Jeanne D. (Newman) Grass, 89, of Windham, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 26, 2018, at Maine Medical Center, in Portland, surrounded by her 10 children.

She was born in Littleton on Aug. 28, 1928, the daughter of Lloyd F. and Hazel S. Newman.

For the last five years of her life, she lived with her daughter, Jeannette, and her husband, the late Kevin Curry, in Windham.

On Nov. 6, 1949, Jeanne married the love of her life, Wayne Edmond Grass, in Woodstock, N.B. They first met picking potatoes in the potato fields of Aroostook County. She was a homemaker for many years, raising her 10 children. She sold Avon and Mary Kay for over 20 years. She was also a daycare provider, working with three of her daughters. She loved listening to Daniel O’Donnell, and in her later years, she enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books, sharing them with her children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents and sister.

Jeanne is survived by her 10 children, Shelley Cullens of Windham, Michael Grass of Mattawamkeag, David Grass of Limington, Rhonda Small of Raymond, Lorrie Small of Raymond, Bradley Grass of Windham, Kevin Grass of Gorham, Lloyd Grass of Windham, Keith Grass of Raymond and Jeannette Curry of Windham; 19 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 30, at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham.
