Jason Hess, 41, of Bridgton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

He was born in Woburn, Mass., on Jan. 22, 1976, the son of Joyce Garvey. He moved to Maine, with his family, in the mid 80s, His love of the outdoors thrived and he became an avid hunter and talented year-round fisherman.

Jason will be remembered for his big heart, his straightforward nature, his friendship and his one-of-a-kind laugh. He loved his Boston sports teams, music, hiking and camping.

He was predeceased by his father, Frederick James Hess, his brother, Christopher Hess, and his stepfather Chuck Niles.

Jason is survived by his mother, Joyce Hess Niles and Craig Acker, of Casco; sister Lindsay Niles, Sean Slattery and nephew Ajax of Harrison; his girlfriend, Jessica Lake Broadhead; aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, April 21, at the American Legion in Naples. Please bring any photo you would like to share and a potluck dish.

A private service will be held at a later date.
