CAPE ELIZABETH — Janice B. Harling, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in Gardner, Mass. on Nov. 9, 1938, a daughter of George and Eda (Stafford) Lashua.

She married Richard Harling Sr. on Nov. 12, 1955, in Ashburnham, Mass. Janice worked in the physical therapy field at National Medical Care, Maine Medical Center, Portland Physical Therapy and Saco Bay Physical Therapy.

Janice was kind and caring to everyone she met. She treasured time spent with family and friends, especially the family tradition of baking Christmas cookies with her sister Bertha and the annual family Memorial Day gathering. She enjoyed playing cards and board games, attending the theater, playing casino games on her tablet, and traveling, including trips to the Bahamas, Barbados, Canada and Las Vegas.

She is predeceased by her husband; a granddaughter; three sisters, Barbara Poitras, Thelma Finn and Rita Bacon; and five brothers, William Brennan, Paul Brennan, Leonard Brennan, Robert Brennan and George Brennan.

She is survived by a son, Richard “Dan” Harling Jr. of Raymond; two daughters, Donna Robinson of Cape Elizabeth and Tammy Butler of Portland; a sister, Bertha Landry of Ashburnham, Mass.; and two grandchildren
