Janet Johnson

BUXTON — Janet C. Brown Johnson, 66, passed away with loved ones at her side at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a long illness on Thursday, July 5, 2018.

She was born on June 26, 1952 in Manhattan, NYC, the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Vera Brown.

Janet enjoyed life and anyone around her had no choice but to be happy — her presence was truly amazing. She loved vacations to Florida, Disney, beaches, and hot summer days with her husband Peter, daughter Amanda, as well as her family. She also enjoyed camping with her mom in Naples, going to Aquaboggan with her daughter, roller-skating and just laughing. She loved her convertible ’72 Mustang and ’75 Camaro, having the top down and her hair blowing in the wind.

She graduated from Deering High School in 1970. She was a hard worker and loved her job. At her most recent job with the Trough Heisler law firm, she loved being with her work family.

She married Peter Johnson in 1985 and had a daughter, Amanda Johnson.

She is survived by her sisters Ida Tanguay of Gorham and Isabel Cail of Naples; brother James Brown of Scarborough; eight nieces and and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, July 8 followed by a funeral service at Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Route 22) in Buxton.
