CASCO — James (Bimbo) William McDonald Jr., 41, of Casco passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday, March 5, 2015.

Jim (Bim) was born in Portland on Jan. 8, 1974 to Jim and Lorraine (Wing) McDonald Sr. He attended Cathedral Grammar School and Lake Region schools, where he graduated in 1992.

He loved football and played on the Lake Region High School football team. Bim started working for the family business, McDonald’s Home Improvement (which is run by his dad), right out of high school. He loved his Patriots and spent a lot of time doing outdoor activities. His passion was for darts, which he played in many leagues, attended numerous dart tournaments, and even almost became the Maine state champ. Bim had a heart of gold and would do anything for his family and friends. He was always there for anyone who needed him and he was loved by many.

Jim was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Arnold “Mac” McDonald; maternal grandfather, Norman K. Wing; an uncle; and his cousin.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Lorraine McDonald; his brother, Michael McDonald; a nephew and niece; paternal grandmother, Constance McDonald; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Wing; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him.

Friends and family are invited to visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. There will also be a celebration of Bim’s life at the American Legion on Route 11 in Naples on Saturday, March 14.
