James Day

NORTH FRYEBURG — James H. Day Jr., 67, of North Fryeburg, found peace on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015.

He was the son of James and Nettie Day, and grew up in Stow with his five sisters. He did not wander far from his roots. He found joy in his surroundings. His biggest joy in life was his family. The best of times were spent pursuing simple activities like sharing a meal with family and friends, laughing, playing cards, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time in the woods. James was a family man. Loyal to those he loved. Raising his children — James (Jamie), Lesa, Jenna and Brian (BJ) — was a responsibility he took seriously and he never stopped being a parent, always present and available whenever they needed him. As time went by, he was blessed with three wonderful grandsons. He shared a special bond with each.

James is survived by his wife, Anita. Their marriage was filled with much love. With love comes loss and James and Anita struggled with the loss of their son, BJ. This was a burden he carried the rest of his life.

They were thankful for the time they were given and felt fortunate to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary this past May. An event celebrated as many before surrounded by family and friends.

James leaves many behind who will remember him as a kind, caring, strong, independent man. Those who shared time with him in his life mourn his passing.

He was predeceased by his sister, Mary; and son, Brian. He is survived by his wife, Anita and children; many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m., at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. Please bring a memory to share.
