STOW — Jacquelyn A. (Layne), 64, of Stow, passed away Sunday morning, May 8, 2016, at home, with her husband by her side, after a long battle with cancer.

Born April 10, 1952, in North Conway, N.H., to Edward Layne Sr. and Frances Buswell Layne of North Chatham, N.H. Jackie, known by her family and friends as “Jazz,” grew up in Chatham, attended school there, as well as Fryeburg. After marrying Ned in 1973, she spent the next four years in Mountain Home, Idaho, and Portland, before moving to Stow, where she spent the next 38 years, building her home and raising her two sons.

She worked in the offices of North Conway Lumber, Chick Lumber, and most recently Eastern Slope Inn over her years in Stow. She loved hiking in her younger days, camping, traveling, and her gardens filled with birds.

Jackie is survived and dearly missed by her husband, Ned H. Bryant, of Stow; sons, Corey Bryant and partner Teeya and daughter Christeena of Queensberry, N.Y., and Kyle Bryant and partner Kylie of Malden, Mass.; beloved Border Collie, Lacey; sisters Janice Haley and partner Mike (Paco) of Harrison, Joyce Layne and partner Dan of West Barnstable, Mass., and Julie George and husband Jeff of Fryeburg; brothers, Edward Layne Jr. of Fryeburg, and Michael Layne of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; her mother-in-law, Jean Bryant, and stepmother, Lola Layne, both of Fryeburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

A private family get together was held this summer to remember her and all she meant to us.
