WESTBROOK — Jacqueline L. Giles, 85, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in Scarborough, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Bangor the daughter of Vernon Sr. and Ruth (Littlefield) Guptill.

Jacqueline grew up in Bangor and Gorham. She was a graduate of Gorham High School and Gorham State Teachers College. She taught in the Gray and Westbrook school systems for four years then enjoyed a career with the Ben Franklin stores retiring in 1993. Jacqueline was a former member of the Embroiders Guild of America, and the Towle and Decorative Painters Society of America. She was also a community representative for the Westbrook Housing Commission.

In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was predeceased by her brother, Vernon Guptill Jr. and sister, Barbara Enman.

She is survived by her sons, Lindscott Giles of Sebago and Kurt Giles of South Casco; daughter, Lisa Thibodeau of South Portland; sister, Phyllis Pike of Peabody Pond; and five grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Dolby & Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015.
