Ivory Robinson Jr., 84

NAPLES — Ivory "Bud" Robinson Jr. passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Maine Veterans' Home in South Paris.

He was born in Raymond on March 2, 1929, the son of Lillian Hancock Robinson and Ivory P. Robinson Sr.

After his education in the Raymond schools he worked for several lumber mills around the area. In 1950 Bud married the love of his life, Ruth Thurston. He lived in Conn., working for a company that manufactures M-1 rifles for the military. Bud was an inspector on the rifle range. In 1952 he was drafted into the military and began his service in the Marine Corps. Bud served in the Military Police in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following his military service he worked at Dielectric Communications for 39 years and then did 11 years fast time as a welder.

He was a member of the Hawthorne Knights of Pythias; Raymond Grange, and the Naples/Casco/Raymond American Legion Post #155. Bud was a proud member of the Color Guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, and, most of all, tending his garden.

Bud was predeceased by his parents; five sisters, Elizabeth Jordon, Estella Bridge, Norma Page, Winnie Hanscom and Wilma Avery. Surviving are his wife Ruth; son Richard of Naples; daughter Lisa and her husband Mike Seyffert; two grandsons, Andrew and Nicholas Seyffert of Marshfield, Mass.

At Bud's request there will be a military service at the Raymond Village Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Naples/Casco/Raymond Auxiliary Unit #155 Scholarship Fund c/o Margaret Proctor, 47 Sand Rd., Naples, ME 04055. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Casco.
