Isabel L. Brill, 79

HARRISON — Isabel L. Brill, 79, of Harrison, died Friday morning, Dec. 11, 2015, at her home in Harrison, with family by her side.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1936, in Bridgton, a daughter of Ralph and Ruth (Foster) Brill. She attended schools in the community of Harrison. Isabel moved to the Portland area, where she worked in industrial manufacturing, retiring from the Sebago Shoe Company.

She was a “Jill of all trades,” able to do everything from shingling a roof to maintaining a flower garden. Her care and love of all animals was more than pleasure to her, it was a passion. While maintaining all of her daily chores she balanced a great deal of her time caring for end-of-life needs for others, quietly behind the scenes. If you were lucky enough to know her you knew she cared much more for others than herself. Even in her last hours her mind was on her family, that she cherished far more than her personality would allow her to express.

Isabel is survived by her daughter, Ruth Hopkins and her husband, John of Manchester; three grandsons, Chris Maddocks and his wife, Angela of Harrison, Michael Maddocks and his wife, Flo of Harrison, and Loren Maddocks, also of Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Keegan, Broc, Kayleigh and Shane.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Hartley and Leonard Brill.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at the Stuart’s Corner Cemetery in Harrison.

Arrangements are in the care of the Chandler Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Bridgton. Words of condolence and tribute may be expressed at www.chandlerfunerals.com
