LEWISTON — Irene (Daigneault) Roy, 84, of Lewiston, was welcomed into the presence of her Savior on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, from complications related to Alzheimer's disease.

Irene was a devout Christian and enjoyed music ministry. She was known for her unwavering faith, love for family and her great sense of style. Irene received great care at the Clover Manor nursing home in Auburn and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

She owned Irene’s Variety in Lewiston and was known for her Italian Sandwiches. She also co-owned Red’s Moving and while there Irene did the secretarial work. She loved camping, fishing and being on the water, especially spending her summers at Winslow Park in Freeport.

She is survived by her sons, Leonard and Sandra Carsley, James and Carline Carsley, and daughter Catherine White; grandchildren Leslie Fadden-Carsley, Kristina Kugle, Diana Carsley, Jonathan Carsley, Andrew Carsley, Amy May Carsley, Kevin Letourneau and Laura Auger; seven great-grandchildren, Desiree, Keara, Evaristo, Ava, Emily, Amelia and Harley; two great-great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Jaden. She is also survived by her brother Leo and Theresa Daigneault of Auburn. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph; and her husbands Richard Carsley and Peter Roy.

A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on 607 Sabattus Street, Lewiston on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta in the spring, where she will join her late husband, Peter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, or to the Alzheimer's Association, or Clover Manor, 440 Minot Avenue, Auburn. Arrangements by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home, 784-4023.
