Irene E. Cuffori

RAYMOND — Irene E. Cuffori, 86, of Raymond, died on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at an Auburn health care facility after a long illness.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Albert and Catherine Martens Bisetta and attended New York schools. Irene worked as an anesthetist aide in Southampton, N.Y. before moving to Maine. She was a cake decorator and decorative artist and enjoyed displaying her art at craft fairs and summer festivals around southern Maine. She knitted, sewed, crocheted and painted throughout her life until she was diagnosed with macular degeneration and was considered legally blind.

Mrs. Cuffori was predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand J. Cuffori in 1995; and her son, Robert A. Cuffori in 1998.

Surviving her are a daughter, Donna M. Costanza of Raymond; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

There are no visiting hours. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Route 302, Windham. The Rev. Joseph Koury will officiate. Interment will be in Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dolby Funeral Chapel, Windham.
